Owen Coyle, Technical Director of Jamshedpur FC, thinks his team has created as many chances as FC Goa but has been blocked by some great goalkeepers.
Jamshedpur FC lost 3-0 to FC Goa leaving them seventh on the Indian Premier League (ISL) table.
After a second consecutive loss, Jamshedpur FC coach Owen Coyle blamed the lack of continuity and tempo for the poor result. He also mentioned that a lot of his players were not at the 100 percent level and chose to focus on the positives on his part. Coyle said the team created some great chances but some great saves from FC Goalkeeper Navin Kumar prevented them from scoring.
“We lost the rhythm, continuity and everything we had. Again tonight a number of our players were probably not playing 100% due to injuries this season. That was said that we missed some great chances. I think their goalkeeper was the man,” Cowell said after the match. Gorgeous. But we have to be better defensive. “
“I think we didn’t take our chances tonight and didn’t defend well enough. We were not surprised. We didn’t play according to our ability. I think Goa is one of the best players.” Added.
Cowell was also impressed with FC Goa’s playing style and stated that they pass and move well. However, he stated that his team created as many chances as Gaurs did throughout the match.
“No, I don’t think so. I think Goa has a separate style. But if you look at the shots on goal and the chances we got like Goa. But they are a great team. They pass and move really well. They’re a great team,” Cowell said.
FC Goa chose to play with Jorge Ortiz as a striker (instead of Igor Angulo) and scored two goals for the team as Jamshedpur FC failed to contain him. Coyle accepted Ortiz moving well with the ball and creating problems for his team. However, he mentioned that his team would move and prepare for the next match.
“Angulo was a great player. We didn’t plan to play Angolo. Ortiz is a great player. He picks the ball and travels well and he caused problems today,” he said.
“What we have to do. We accept the criticism. But we carry ourselves and we are ready to go.”
